SangHee and I had a bubble tea date =)
After a grand bubble tea time we went to catch a bus (it was I who was catching the bus). While waiting for the bus this tall guy cut in line - right in front of me.
Alcohol smell - check.
Smoking - check.
Every second word is a curse word - triple check.
He was trying to say something about New Yorkers always cutting in line and people getting frustrated. I kind of had to decipher his 'New York' speech - cause of the triple check mentioned above.
The bus came and as the line was moving into the bus - my heart could not get onto that bus. So I just said 'hey, you know Jesus?' and left the bus line. Alonso is a bus driver. Yes. He was drunk. Going to work. Angry. Frustrated. But he said that he likes to help people.
So I asked if SangHee and I could pray. He said a big 'yes'. It didn't take long for him to start weeping as we prayed and just spoke words of encouragement over Him and the Father's heart for a man who was angry and burdened.
He said this was big for him. Important (while weeping and hugging us a gazillion times... =) ) .
As you are reading this - please lift up Alonso in your prayer.
Thanks =)
So wonderful. You and SangHee are doing Holy Spirit work. Healing, blessing, sharing abundant life. I'm privileged to know you. "Father, continue to do your work in Alonso's life so he can be set free from those things that make him seem less than what he is in Your sight, a man of God. Do this, Father, in Jesus' name."
ReplyDeletethank you for your prayers. Alonso definitely needs them.
ReplyDeleteToday while while being at the Tompkins Square park I prayed for this young lady. As I was praying I kept on hearing the word 'abuse' and sure enough - all of a sudden she just broke down and started weeping. There's been a lot of abuse in her family. She is also physically not doing so well and has a lovely, beautiful voice - but her heart is hardened toward God. please keep her in your prayers.
thank you =)
